The Empowered Performer Project is grounded in a simple but powerful truth:

Our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are always interconnected.

What we think shapes how we feel, and how we feel directly influences how we act—onstage, in rehearsal rooms, in auditions, and in our daily lives.

So if we have thoughts like “They’re not gonna cast me! There are hundreds of people at this audition!”, you might start to feel discouraged, panicked or even angry that it’s so hard to thrive doing what you love. These thoughts and feelings can often be overwhelming, leading to behaviors that are less than helpful.

For actors, this loop can easily become chronic due to industry pressures.

Perfectionism, people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, unhealthy communication patterns, and a scarcity mindset rooted in constant comparison are not personal failures—they are learned responses to an environment that often equates worth with productivity, booking, or external validation. Over time, these patterns erode self-trust, diminish self-worth, and lead to emotional exhaustion and burnout.

The EPP Method helps performers identify and interrupt these cycles by building awareness of the nervous system, thought patterns, and emotional responses that drive behavior. Through this work, actors learn to recognize the difference between general DISCOMFORT and personal TRAUMA TRIGGERS, helping them respond with mindfulness rather than react—to make choices rooted in clarity, regulation, and self-respect rather than fear or survival.

By emphasizing healthy communication, values, boundaries, self-compassion, acceptance, and a sustainable pace, the EPP Method helps artists slow down enough to make conscious choices—supporting artistic excellence without sacrificing well-being.

Acting Technique

A unique approach to character development, text analysis and ensemble building that uses the foundations of nervous system awareness, attachment styles, somatic movement and more, to craft a fully 3 Dimensional performance and maintaining healthy boundaries between the actor and the role.

Keegan Spectrum Technique™ is grounded in principles of consent, self-agency, pacing, and embodied choice. The work prioritizes regulation, self-compassion, and ethical boundaries, and explicitly rejects pedagogical models that encourage emotional harm, psychological overwhelm, or the mining of personal trauma as a performance tool. That being said, embodying “dramatic” stories that we see in plays, on TV and in Film, or stepping in front of a live audience, as they gaze with expectation that your performance will worth the ticket price, REQUIRES the ability to manage emotional discomfort. It’s part of the job.

This method integrates nervous system awareness, movement-based exploration, and character embodiment through a structured spectrum of physiological states and corresponding physical actions. It is designed to access points of calm and discomfort from an outside-in approach, in order to support sustainable artistic practice and helping actors differentiate between their own internal experience and that of the character. This allows for deep emotional work without reliance on personal trauma as a primary resource.

Keegan Spectrum Technique™ is an original acting and somatic embodiment methodology developed by Alyssa Keegan.

This methodology reflects Alyssa Keegan’s original synthesis of movement theory, actor training, trauma-informed practice, and mindfulness-based observation. While it draws upon established principles from neuroscience, somatic awareness, and movement analysis, the structure, sequencing, language, visual framework, and pedagogical application of Keegan’s Spectrum Method are original and authored by Alyssa Keegan.
